Newbie Intro

Wow, found people with similar interests! My name is Jerry Butler. My wife an I retired and ended up selling our motorhome. We miss camping so we bought a tent and have used that for 3 years. I now remember why I quit camping in tents. We have a smaller car and the tear drop looks perfect. So here we go!

This is not my first. In 1973 I built a pickup truck camper with a cab over double bed to fit our '72 Datsun pick up. We did use that for a few years then sold it. I recently bought plans and the pattern from Big Woody. I have reviewed the plans twice. I have lots of questions so I am scanning this site by listing my question in the search field. You all are awesome and just full of info!

What general area are you from?

I currently live in Waxhaw, NC. Just south of Charlotte and less than 10 miles from the SC border.

My reworked trailer is just about ready for a couple of welds to eliminate the tilt bed, then I will start adding the wood floor. Personally I am more than ready!
