Hey Everyone,
new to the forum so bear with me while i get a signature setup.
Been toying with the idea of putting a teardrop together and have made the plunge.
After looking at several we've gone ahead with a Grumman-2 design in a 5x10 config. I'll add some pics shortly.
I was hoping to have this available for a 4 day trip........starting tomorrow but i've come up a little short.
I haven't calculated # of hours in the build so far but I know it hasn't been enough. I work in NYC and live out east on Long Island so i spend quite a bit of time commuting.
Doesn't stop me though as working late has never been a problem for me.....maybe the neighbors mind when a saw or the compressor goes off.
All in all, i'm pretty happy with the progress i've made.
Anyway, i'm totally excited to keep at it and post here and take any advice that y'all have to offer.
the current state of the build is:
platform constructed, undercoated and mounted to trailer
stabilizing jacks mounted to trailer
side walls: installed
spars: installed
interior ceiling panels: installed
insulation: installed
interior electrical: may run wiring tonight for cabin lighting, switches, etc (really doubt it though)
power distribution panel: location TBD
trailer electrical: running into problems with connections on my Dakota. could be bad connectors at the hitch end. fuses are good so some troubleshooting is in order here
galley hatch: yet to fabricate
cabinetry-interior & galley: TBD
galley layout: TBD
roof vent/fan: arrived today
roof: have a sheet of aluminum but was waiting on trim to arrive which i believe UPS has delivered today
for now, that's it.....
