New guy from Nashville

Postby tnmedic2010 » Tue Sep 22, 2015 8:59 pm

Hi all. Bought the wife a jayco popup a few weeks ago, and did not know what I was looking at when we bought up. Anyway it is ate with rot and I broke a slide out and a back wall a few days ago, don't ask embarrassing story. Anyway wife is finally convinced that a tear drop will be a good thing for the trailer under the popup. The trailer is 6'9" wide and 10' long so it should at least be an interesting journey. Anyway after searching this is the best place I found as far as info on teardrops and plans as well so here I am. Good to be here and look forward to getting to know all about teardrops and my building of one for my wife and two daughters. Thanks for the add and all, Lindle aka tnmedic2010

Welcome. I hope I do not catch flack for this, however, before you tear that pop-up apart you may want to look at the site 'pop-up portal'. There's a lot of really good folks there that can help you bring that pop-up back.

Otherwise, maybe you can build an oversized foamie on that chassis. Make something big enough for the brood.
Good luck!

Welcome to the group. We have a guy in our Illinois group that had built 3 trailers from popup frames. Best part is they come with a title. Something that is a hassle to get here if you build your own frame. He kept lots of the parts and reused them on his new trailers, so don't throw away everything. Keep it till you finish the new build and then pitch what you did not use. You will love the teardrop life style. It is fast and compact. A great way to travel.

Welcome to the party! Sounds like an interesting story about the renovation you've already done on your camper.

The time you spend planning is more important than the time you spend building.........
