Another Oregon Noob

Hey all... Just joined the forum as a resource to assist in my trailer build. This is my first attempt at a build, and actually my first trailer I have ever owned LOL. I am swapping out the axle to a 6K with electric brakes, and the wheels and tires will match my tow rig, 35". Fun project so far.

Here is the tow rig, heavily modified 07 Trailblazer, 4.10 gears (6100lbs towing).

Here is the base for my trailer build. M103A3 Army trailer.

Trailer as it sits today, welding will be done tomorrow then off to get blasted/refinished.

Wowzer, that's one heavy duty lookin' rig you got there! 8)
It'll be fun following your progress on that one.
So, welcome to the fun house! There's lots of help and advice and some insanity going on here. :R

Where in Oregon? I'm down by Roseburg.
Don't forget to post lots of pics!

Hi Nathan, welcome aboard... :shake hands: :shake hands:

Wow... You say, " I am swapping out the axle to a 6K with electric brakes, and the wheels and tires will match my tow rig, 35"". Is this correct a 6,000 # axle?? I built a a CTC that is 6x10' for off-road use; the trailer is outfitted with a 3,500# axle and leaf springs, and I have to let air out of the tires on rough roads!! I don't know what your trailer will weigh, what you are going haul, or what the GVWR is calculated to be but, it should be haul just about anything your Blazer can tow...

Good luck on the build and keep the pics coming...  :pictures: :pictures:

It currently has a 10K axle with air/hydraulic breaks. The trailer was made to carry 2 large generators when it was in service. I wasn't sure what my finished weight will be, but I know it isn't going to be over 6K. Plus with the 6k axle size and the 3" loss of tire height with the swap, it will make it right about even with my tow rig. I am building a 2 person travel trailer with bathroom, kitchen area, and dining table. That's what I am shooting for at least. :worship:

One thing for sure, the trailer frame should be able to handle anything you can throw at it... :D :D

Good luck on the build and hope to see more pics... :pictures: :pictures:
