BTW, the snow here is just like the Adirondacks right now.
Hey there -
I went to Ballston Spa HS. So we are practically related or something like that. Here is a link to a nagging question I have been having as I peruse the choices between an affordable Teardrop/Canned Ham/ or now a new idea Enclosed Trailer.
With the Enclosed trailer route I there are a lot of choices in terms of empty weight and then the delightful prospect of customization with an eye for the final weight when empty and then loaded. My vehicle can tow 1500 - 2000 without a problem which frankly was why a teardrop was attractive in the first place. If I can tow under 1000 lbs dry weight, then pile up 500 of gear I am still well under the tow limit, I am shall we say a bit Scottish, I never met a penny that did not want a small squeeze or two coming out of the wallet.

I am a smart and frugal dude! With that said the last option before going back to tent camping this summer is to look into getting the enclosed.
Issue 1: To V or not to V - The dragging answer -
https://hensleymfg.com/trailer-sway-v-nose-trailers/Issue 2: Dry weight 1K to start, empty. Not a cot, cabinet or a stove added. Add insulation, bed of some kind, flooring, rudimentary table for washbasin, stove, cooler, solar power, netting for gear (I am a kayaker/Astronomer/Documentary film maker wanna be), and what ever else I gather along the 4-6K a summer drive around New York and New England. The bottom line is the trailer will have more drag and be heavier then a teardrop but will also allow more headroom and I can carry my stuff around and stand up in the same trailer I sleep in. Handy. But is the handy luxury worth the added fuel economy loss and wear and tear on an 8 year old vehicle? I don't know. My guess is maybe.
Issue 3: The cost of doing the Enclosed. Every one I find is new and entry price is 2300.00 with a v nose and the door latch system that I like. Add to that the cost of making it more David-esque and I will be into it for 3,500 bucks before the first beer is cracked on the 4th of July.
Decisions.....
By the way man I am sad and not so sad that we are fresh out of snow here in Virginia this month.
