Hello, Duf11, welcome to the forum. I believe you must have skipped over the "Newbies, Introduce yourselves" section as shown on the home page. Not to worry, I did the same thing. However, we would like to know a bit more about you, so check it out and I'll be watching for the interesting things about you and all about your plans and proposed build. Good luck on your build.

Whoops, I did skip that part. Thx for the catch Roy. I am a long time hiker and tenter in New England. I have hiked parts of the Appalachian Trail. I usually go out alone.
However I have two sons who love to shoot, hike and hunt with me. I have been admiring TD's for years. I finally decided it would be a fun project. I am an experienced woodworker (for an amateur) so I can deal with the construction. I am hopefully picking up a 6 x 6 trailer tomorrow I found on craigslist. I am taking a welding class with an experienced welder buddy of mine (he is teaching it) and will be modifying the trailer to a 6 x 8. A little bigger than most of what I have seen on here but it will work great for my plans.

My sons are going to help and hopefully we will be done by midsummer or so (depending on my funds) and be able to use our own TD. I am going with a classic design on the outside as I am a bit of a purist. However I have some neat ideas for the inside that should make our TD lots of fun to use.

I hope that fills everyone in and as I move forward with the project I will start a build journal with lots of pics.... I need lots of advice on the propane/electrical side and you all seem to have the answers. Glad I stumbled on this place!

Good for you Dufll, now we know a bit about you and your proposed build. Wow, finished by mid summer, you may be a bit optomistic, but we'll see how quickly it goes together. Good luck, and keep those kids busy, ol' Dad can't do it alone.
8) Roly........(Hmmm, not Roy, but you're close)
