Mass Newbie

Hi guys and gals, I'm new here. No duh right? Well I own a 1965 Land Rover and go to several Land Rover events every Fall. My wife and I have been sleeping in the back of the truck, but in Massachusetts, it gets very cold in the late Fall. So she has told me we need to have a camper, but these events tend to be in farmer's fields, which means a very narrow gate to drive through. So I came up with a plan....I have several load beds from Land Rovers of the same vintage as mine, and the top of a full hard top. I'm gutting two pop-up trailers, cutting the chassis down to size on one, and using it as a base to build a Land Rover pop-up tag along trailer. I know not really a tear-drop, but it'll be about the same size, it'll match my truck, and fit through those narrow gates. And in case you're wondering what that truck looks like, this is it: Image

I'll start a build thread soon, this whole thing needs to be complete by the end of September when metal dash starts, that's the first event.

You will want to insulate the camper. That steel will be cold. Is the box double wall? Maybe spray foam between the two. Have fun

Hi Ken, no the box is single wall aluminum. I had planned on using 2" pink foam insulation, then covering that with a cloth covering, or head liner material. The biggest problem these trucks have id it tends to rain inside from condensation, so I was going to try and nip that in the butt with the camper and insulate it thoroughly!
