South African Newbie

Postby bheunis » Mon Jun 13, 2016 9:17 am

Good day all. I'm from Johannesburg in South Africa. I went camping 2 months ago in my tent, as most of us South Africans do and saw a TD for the 1st time in my life. I never knew that they existed and was immediately intrigued. I immediately started looking for one that I could buy, but was shocked by the price that they are selling for new here by us and I am yet to see a 2nd hand one being advertised. I then started researching how to build them, as the plan is to design and build my own one and came across this site. I'm a designer draughtsman, so the designing shouldn't be too difficult as a use AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor (3D Modelling) on a daily basis. I'm planning on using all the tips that I can find on the website to get the right design before I start the build, as I believe all the work lies in planning.
