New guy from Muncie, that's in Indiana...

Hey there,
New guy here.

Like most others, been snooping for a bit, and like many others, i have a trailer on the way. I just signed off on plans for a 7x12 CT, which should consume much free time from here until, well for a while.

There's more to our story, but basics are this:
41yo dude, love the outdoors, backcountry backpacking, hiking, climbing, kayaking, downhill skiing, etc.
Wifey about the same age, photographer, likes the outdoors, likes some amenities as well :)
2 little men, 10 and 13, well we're working on the men part. They love to adventure as well.

My basic vision is pretty simple. These kids are gone in a flash. they'll be gone in 5 and 8 years respectively and I want to get out there and see of much of it with them as I can. I'm not looking for a trailer with every amenity, but more of a base camp to explore out of. That said, big goals:
- Full Bed for me and wife,
- Bunks for 2 boys
- Toilet inside
- Modern aesthetic (of note, this has been our biggest issue to date with most modern RV type experiences we've seen. They struggle to inspire us to very much. So we want something, clean, functional, and accommodating to the basics, something that we can get around N. America and sleep in and see some great things and share some memories over the next 5-10 years.
- Piecemeal approach, we'll be growing this thing and doing a bit at a time, so want to plan ahead where I can, not break the bank all up front.

There it is, This site is amazing, people have created some really amazing things which I've learned from and will continue in learning from. Thanks for all of your contributions and generosity in sharing your time and wisdom, failures and successes.

I'll start a new thread here shortly, need to come up w/ a catchy name like you all do, or some of you do ;)

Welcome! I need a catchy name for mine too. Maybe that'll work? "Check out my camper Insert Catchy Name Here!"
