I have been lurking here for a couple of months now, looking at different designs and all the great work all of you have done.
I decided last year that I was done sleeping in a tent, but I love finding campsites in the middle of nowhere.
I "found" teardrops and instantly fell in love with the concept.
While I love the idea of a teardrop, the teardrop shape never appealed to me.
I have been looking at Grasshopper designs because I like the lines of the design and the features.
In looking at the all the different types, I kept coming back to the basic Grasshopper design.
I have gone through about twelve revisions of a Grasshopper like trailer (what would you call that? A Grassdropper? Tearhopper?).
Anyway, being a programmer and former project manager I believe in the 6 P's of project management, Prior Planning Prevents Pi$$ Poor Performance.
Hence 12 revisions so far, anyway having put together lists, drawings, and spreadsheets of features and parts and pieces and working up a budget... I threw it all out the window this last week.
I promised myself that I wouldn't do this till I sold my motorcycle, but when the time is right you have to jump (a nice Christmas present to myself as well

Lee Senn (member here) put his trailer up for sale, and it being 95% of "most" of my designs I bought it, picked her up a couple of hours ago.
Met Lee and his wife, had a nice lunch and was told what a great bunch of people there are here.
If you all are anything like Lee and Norma, I think I'll make a lot of friends here as well.
Now comes the fun part, have to measure, photograph, and put it into Sketchup, and see just how much of what I want can be added to what I need.
Then to make her mine!
Since it's cold as all get out right now here in Utah, I'll be planning and accumulating parts, then when it gets warm enough to work in the garage with a small propane heater, I'll get started.
I'll be posting pics, and now that I have introduced myself, I'm sure I'll be asking questions, can't wait to meet you all at some of the meets this year!
