We did finally give in to an air mattress last year and are in the planning stage for a teardrop. I build rustic furniture and built our house so I am not afraid to jump in and build something. But I have no idea where to start. But i think, with this forum I may have just found it. Thanks in advance for all the help!

Hey ya'll. I am brand new to teardrops. My wife and I love to hike and still tent camp in our 50's. We love when we tell friends we are going camping and they ask us about our RV. We did finally give in to an air mattress last year and are in the planning stage for a teardrop. I build rustic furniture and built our house so I am not afraid to jump in and build something. Hey, none of us did. I suggest a copy of Tim Fredrick's Teardrop Shop Manual: http://www.campingclassics.com/shopman05.html It's not cheap but will show you the way.
It sounds to me that you two are the perfect candidates for some serious teardropping.
