Hello from northwestern Ontario, Canada

Postby Fairf » Mon Jun 28, 2021 9:24 am

Hey, just wanted to introduce myself, my name is Mike Fairfield, but everyone calls me "fairf".
I'm from Rainy River, Ontario, Canada. It's a small town of about 800 people in northwestern Ontario.
So I wanted to share my build too. I started it at the beginning of April this year, and hope to have it finished by mid August. It's a complete build from the ground up, everything is fabricated by me.

You said northwest and I thought Opasquia PP, on my bucket list. I guess relative to Toronto, definitely nw. I've been hoping to do a Grande Portage to Lake of the Woods canoe trip. There's a campground across the river from you on my list.

Welcome aboard!

Unfortunately, can't see any of your pictures.

PS: I see one after I posted.

You got it! Great pics. Great progress.

Looks like your build could allow cabin to be removed from frame. I am planning same and will have a box also for utility use.

It's not removable frome the frame. The floor is through bolted to the frame and construction glued and siliconed.

The way the wall sat on top of frame rather than come down outside and over frame made me wonder. Very good looking! Used it much so far?

I haven't used it yet. The door still needs seals, and I haven't started building the rear hatch yet. I'm just in the process of insulating the walls and roof so that I can put up inside walls and build the kitchen cupboards.
