New to the tiny camper community

Postby Timmayy » Mon Oct 18, 2021 5:41 am

Hi all,
My wife and I just purchased a 1979 El Macho tiny camper. Very complete but needs a few things here and there. I'm hoping I can get a lot of useful information here. We've had larger campers in the past but this El Macho is something my wife can tow herself because sometimes my work schedule interferes with our camping plans.

Welcome to the site.

Be warned we like pictures.

There is a vast amount of knowledge on this site. So read as much as you can. Read the build journal section. There are quite a few members that have built multi campers. Don't be afraid to ask questions. You will get different ways to skin the same cat.

Here is a topic that discusses how to post pictures.

Here's a pic. I've already had to do a few things so far. In the front toolbox is the dual batteries and the propane tank. There was nothing holding the tank down so I added a bracket and new regulator and hose to keep it from moving. I put a plastic milk crate over the batteries because there was no cover and the terminals were out in the open. Then the front crank was wrong and you would bust your knuckles against the tool box. I installed a correct one. More work to come.
