I am from Kansas City Missouri and I am looking to build a "Squaredrop camper".

I am hoping I can accomplish this and not spend a ton of money and have something myself and my family can enjoy.

Anybody that is building on a budget needs to study the work of Jay Poore. He has built some great tear drops on the cheap. That said, building with new materials and first rate features might not cost as much as you think. Tony Latham is your man if you go this route. I bought a simple kit from a boat builder, so I guess, Chesapeake Light Craft is option 3. A different animal all together. The good news is. You can find it all here. The hard part is figuring out what you want.
