Hello from Oregon!

Postby squaredroppinoregon » Thu Jul 14, 2022 11:15 pm

Greetings! My name is Mike, and I hail from the PNW....Oregon, specifically.

Found this forum during my continuous searches for information on building my own teardrop/squaredrop trailer.

My goals for the camper are:

1 - Reasonable size/weight. Thinking I would like to start from a 5x8 trailer frame at least.
2 - Travel distances easily - I live in western Oregon, but have friends/family all over the PNW that I like to visit.
3 - Ruggedness/versatility - I would like to be able to use this trailer from anything from camping in a RV park with family, to dragging it to remote spots during the fall/winter while i am hunting deer/elk/bear.

Tow vehicle is a 2022 Ram 1500 4x4, with the v6 e-torque. I think it should be a decent tow vehicle for this venture.

Ideas/thoughts always welcome, hopefully I will be able to contribute something as well!!

Hello... from Idaho...

You might consider stretching it out to a 5 x 10'. It'll give you lots more storage space and room for a Propex (propane) heater.

The heaters are expensive but are gold. And they can be added after the fact as long as you have room for one.
