Hello From Eastern Oregon

Postby dnirschl » Sat Nov 05, 2022 1:03 am

Hey There Group,

I recently purchase a teardrop trailer.

My teardrop was manufactured by Trailerworks and is labeled as a "Retro Traveler"

It's a cute little trailer and has the original look that I was looking for.

Just wondering if anyone else has this trailer.

I'd like to chat with other folks with this trailer.

Let me know if you have one.

Thanks

Hi Bill,

I'm not sure that's the company.
I was able to track down the company owner and received an email stating that the company went out of business in 2010.

Here's a photo of the trailer.

Thanks,
Dan

That’s a clean looking retro style trailer. I believe those Kit style fenders are from Grant Whipp’s “Lil Bear” molds that are now owned by Frank Bear at Vintage Technologies and are currently out of production. I would enjoy seeing images of the galley area too.
Cheers,
-Rob

Hey Mountainminded,

Thanks for the information about the fenders. I've been doing some research on this trailer and eventually found some postings by a company called Trailerworks and a few pictures on this website. I did track down the owner, Eric Drugge, and he stated in an email that the company went out of business in 2010 and couldn't provide me any other information?

I was hoping to see how many of these trailers were made and maybe get some design information.

The design is a bit strange with the water tank in the lower right side of the galley but no access for any type of repairs that I can see.

Here's a picture of the galley area.

That's a beautiful trailer. I'm not surprised they are out of business - it looks like it would have taken a great deal of labour to build.
I'm interested in the system that holds the galley hatch up. Any more photos of that?

Hi, It's a very simple system since the hatch is only half sized and is very light. It's just a quarter inch bar that folds down from the hatch and is secured on the top shelf. I'll try to get a few pictures and post them so you can see what I mean.
