Air mattress alternative

Bringing back the old topic again. After several camping trips now with the Cabelas pads and memory foam toppers, my wife has decided that her hips sink too far and the plywood base is making her sore after sleeping. I still do pretty well, but it's definitely a little firmer than I would prefer. I also hate having to roll the Cabelas pads up when we get ready to pack up and go home. I find myself once again looking for something to put between the plywood base and the memory foam topper. Just a short update.

My sister bought a IKEA cheap foam mattress and with a memory foam top its pretty comfortable, I have the twin mattress from Ikea and it rolls up nicely.

Thanks for the reply. Someone else mentioned they didn't think the ikea mattress would roll back up very well. It's good to hear that it does. I may look in to that.

It doesn't roll up as small as when you buy it, but it does roll up. What I like about it is I have done some winter camping in a tent and was perfectly comfortable with the proper layering. Do your self a favor no matter what you buy if you do layers like my sister, either make a cover or buy one. I have a plastic mattress cover over the mattress and a muslin cover over it. It protects the mattress from any water, mold and smells.
