Overnight stops, Wal-Mart ...

Howdy All;

Found this on an RV'er site that I also frequent,
thought some might be able to use it. Shows which say Yes
and which say No and has a section of etiquette. Good for over-
nights while getting to and from camping spots.

Nice, I've used those same "rules" at well lit truck stops if I need a break on my way to a long destination. I think that is a benefit of using a CCT over a standard RV. You can blend in a lot easier in situations like this. My wife also made some "black out" curtains for the window of ours so you can have all the lights on inside the trailer and the windows are still dark when viewed from the outside.

Thanks for the great tips and links for "camping" at Walmart!!

When traveling back and forth across the US, I have used Wally World parking several times and Loves Truck Stops when they allow auto and auto & trailer parking "away" from the big guys, no disrespect here, it is just quieter than to have these big rigs pulling in and out all night.

When using Wally the first couple of times, I went in and asked about overnighting there and was told where I could park and was thanked for asking. Your post was great and a reference for others ... I prefer a more private spot, but when you have to hold your eyelids open, I'll take a Wally park!

I've used the same 'basic' courtesies when over nighting at Truck stops. The Guy/Gal
to ask is the Mgr. at the fuel desk (where the Truckers pay for their fuel), they are
usually the shift Mgr. for everything except the restaurant, if there is one. I'll ask if it's
Ok, and where would they prefer for me to park. I'll not take a Trucker's spot, those guys
need the spaces more than I do, and I can always find a spot alot easier than they can.

I parked at a Luv's in returning from Minnesota last fall and pulled in over by the tire shop .. it looked like several cars were parked there and it was out of the way for the trucks. I asked the tire shop manager if it would be okay to park there for several hours and he said sure and told me to just pull in and take up two spots so I did not stick out too far and all was okay. I got a couple hours of tossing and turning .. and maybe some sleep, got gas, pulled out and hit the road.

Thank you for the excellent tips and links. In my many trips between Boise, Idaho and Napa, California we have stayed in Walmart lots in Wennemucca, NV and Fernly, NV with never a problem. We always follow the basic courtesy rules and never leave anything behind i.e., we take our trash with us for proper disposal later. We park way out of the way and are quiet. We appreciate Walmart's policy and respect their property. The link to Walmart stores that do not allow over night RV's was excellent and greatly appreciated in planning for future trips to southern Nevada.
