Newbie design question

Postby mlowry7 » Tue Jul 08, 2014 8:37 pm

Just ordered my 6x12 lark v-nose. I am thinking of building a wall behind the ramp door to house a window ac and an outdoor kitchen when the door is open. I know I have seen some on here do something like this, but can't seem to find them. Anybody have any thoughts on this design?? Thanks!

Hi there,

I'm researching design as well so I've been looking at tons of builds. I've seen either, but not both on the same trailer. My only insight would be to point out that you know you wouldn't want to be using them both at the same time, right?

Probably wouldn't be an issue for solo camping, but you wouldn't want to have family inside being ACed and you're trying to use the rear galley.

Yes there are several projects like that here in the forum; along with many variations of the idea. The best way to find them is to start going through the many projects here. I did and found many ideas along the way.

I will be using barn doors and will build a wall for both privacy and AC mounting. My wall will be removable so should I want to carry a "toy"' with wheels someday, I can. Also it will allow for kayaks to be passed through it when traveling.

Good luck with this idea. You should have a good time with it.

Click on the "HALL of FAME" up in the header, as you look through the pix you'll see
some of the ones built like you are thinking of, click on them and you'll end up in the
posters build thread/album.

Welcome,

I had a hard time searching here in the beginning...there are so many good designs, and users, many have posted builds and don't come back...must be enjoying their trailers!

Here's mine, a half-wall removable "closet" for a window A/C on a barn door trailer. The wall clips/bolts into brackets mounted to vertical e-track so it can be removed during cooler months.

My buildup is at the bottom of the first page here:

Here's some of my other favorites:

His entire wall is hinged on the left side and rolls away to make room for a golf cart.

I can't say why, but this is still one of my favorite builds, must be the cabinets/color and ceiling treatment. I got a lot of inspiration from this one.

Also lrrowe mentions the removable and pass-thru options, this is huge for us, and we use it all the time. We most always cooked outside before getting the trailer, so we still do. nice not to have all the cooking odors in the sleeping area.
