Screw sizes

Postby Tx River Rat » Thu Sep 11, 2014 12:37 pm

I have a 2013 lark trailer and need to find the size and type tool to remove screws from the outside skin.
Nothing I have will fit.
Thanks

Hi - Could be a square drive or a star drive. If you can take a picture the head of it and take it to your local hardware store, they will be able to fix you up with the right bit. Good luck. Bill

It will be a square drive #2 bit. Looks like a star but it is not.

FYI, the hinge and latch hardware looks like a star bit (torx), and is.

I read somewhere (most likely on this forum) the screws on the outside of my Haulmark required a "double-square #2" bit. Like MtnDon said, "It looks like a star, but isn't." I located some for sale on ebay and a couple of other places on line, but I needed to pull only one screw. I tried a standard #2 square. It worked fine.

Yep, mine looked like a star but wasn't. When none of my star bits fit, I even called the manufacture to ask what super top secret bit they use. It was a #2 square! :o I've called them with a few other silly questions too
