Just heard on the radio that we're currently tied with Jasper as the coldest place on Earth right now. Minus 46 C including wind chill. Noticed when I was walking my dogs this morning that their paws were freezing up quicker than expected... think the warm paws fresh out of the trailer are melting the snow, then that moisture is flash freezing into the paw texture. Quick massage with my hand fixes it up... but always a new foot lol

Good job on the door .....
I'm just using 1.5" on mine for CA ..... Should be fine.

How many watts is the heater ? 1,500 I would guess @ -40 is pretty good.
Don't worry about fresh air too much at -46C there is still plenty infiltration at that temp.
How do you get water into the trailer at that temp & heat to shower ?

Cheers Jerry

Right now there's no plumbing at all. This rv park has coin op showers, washer, drier, bathroom sinks. Worked out great for me, only thing I'm missing is kitchen facilities. Will add a sink and waste water tank, though only gravity/manual supply. Water and sewage are available but only during the warm months.... not buried deep enough for winter. They also truck in water and sewage out... but with the provided facilities and my small trailer I'd rather conserve space.

When considering that the only thing I'm missing is a kitchen I had an epiphany... build a kitchen door. It will swing inwards and store against my interior wall, and when in use it will swing into the spot where my man door is (that door will have to swing open and be held in place). Will have a small counter, electric hot plate and/or propane camp stove top, microwave, storage for cooking/eating/cleanup supplies. A hood venting outside is planned.

With the sink I have planned, and cooking facilities in a door, all I need is a fridge and I'm set for meal prep... all without losing much floor space.

So how'd it handle this last cold snap?

Warm enough?

I'm planning on getting a mount made for a couple propane tanks this week :)
