FWIW, I believe you underestimate the cold weather worthiness of your build. The problem may be it's just too cold outside to get out and enjoy yourself but I'll bet you would be snug and warm well into the winter months even with your windows and foam core door and slide out. I suppose come winter you can test that in your driveway, I hope you'll post an update.
I'm hoping OP is subscribed to this thread, I'm curious about the insulation/winter worthiness turned out.
To be honest, camper got put away in October, but kept us warm at night. We currently don't do much winter camping. The one weak spot is the slideout, which still has the original factory insulation.
Thanks for the update. I figured it would be entirely adequate well into the winter months. The heater might run more but the occupants would be warm and cozy. Your home built is better insulated and sealed than almost every purpose built trailer made.
