I had seen the Foxwing awnings which look really sweet. I ended up being pretty sold on the hannibal awning as it eliminated the need for the poles and guy lines. I also really wanted the walls for an enclosed area, I'm not sure if that is an option on the foxwing but I hadn't thoroughly researched it.

rule of thumb on solar is keep your inverter lines as close to batteries as possible also you want to use thick gauge. think over kill instead of underkill. I found 2/0 premade cables at harbor freight on sale for like 25$ for 2 6footers pre crimped. I chopped them to size and added crimps to finish. those 2 made all my shorties and the inverter runs too but mine are clustered. I still gotta make a enclosure box around mine but they are in the cargo bay instead of bed.

nice build. I need to get a welder and figure out where to find a sand blaster to hit my wheels with. projects projects projects. keep it up!

Just remember to keep FLA batteries away from the charger. The gas can corrode the charger pretty quickly depending on install location. There was a Youtube video of a guy who installed solar in his RV battery compartment and it lasted less than a year. I would think in a well-vented install you might get a way closer.

Any more thoughts or feedback on the timbren setup now that you've used it a bit and gotten some miles on it? I am particularly interested about using this for a 5x10 teardrop build that will see significant off road usage.

So far the Timbren suspension has been awesome. I've logged quite a highway miles and its been extremely stable on the highway. I keep looking in my rearview when I go over bumps expecting the trailer to be hopping around but it just sticks to the pavement. It seems to perform equally well on washboard dirt roads, which I've also logged quite a few miles. As my kitchen area in the back of the trailer is not yet completed, I have my cooler and a bunch of larger tupperware food bins with food and kitchen/cooking supplies stacked in the back but not strapped down. I have set relatively light weight items on top of these bins for miles at a time, and even after driving over bumpy dirt roads at a pretty solid speed the objects are still sitting there. I would've expected them to bounce around off the bins, but I think thats a testament to the timbren system doing an excellent job. So far I would have no reason to believe the Timbren system has any issues.

Thanks for the posts.
I am new to this forum and this is exactly what I had in mind.
I just can't justify $6,000 to over $10,000 for a plywood teardrop that is going to self-destruct over bumpy unpaved roads.
A 5 x 8 cargo trailer will offer more room and durability for a lot less!
