roof top AC- Coleman Mach 3 vs Dometic Duo Therm

Postby m.colley » Thu Jun 23, 2016 2:49 pm

I'm still debating on whether to go roof top or mod a window ac on my CTC. For those that have done a roof top AC, which brand did you go with and why. If I decide to go roof top I'm looking at the Duo Therm because of weight differences and eventually replacement parts prices. Just curious what others are using and why.

I bought a mach 3 haven't been disappointed yet. I can see some advantage to the other the Mach 3 is loud inside my 7x14 btw my wife sleeps with a fan at home so its the same for her. I do like that it is one less thing I have to hook up and pack when moving the trailer :D .

Thanks Chief, I've heard that about the Coleman too and now you've confirmed it. The wife sleeps with a fan on at home as well so we're both use to it. The "one less thing to pack up " as you mentioned and the fact that I really can't put a Window AC where I'd like to install it is the only reason I'm considering the roof top AC. Amp draw at 115V, unit cost and weight ratio are in the windows favor, ease of use and ease of install are in roof top favor.

Thanks for your input Chief.
