First step on our 12 X 16 Atlas CT conversion.

We aren't going for anything real fancy. Just sold our 2008 t@da . Part of the reason for the sale was because we can't take our 10 ft, recumbent tandem trike with us when we travel. We decided to have just the basics converted on our 12X6 Atlas cargo trailer. I plan to set up a kitchen outside when we travel and we want to have a spot for our porta pot and a bit of storage. A place for a cooler and a counter to make a sandwich on.

We are having a retired carpenter that lives near us build a bed that will fold down from the side walls, over the trike. Trike has a high point of of 28 inches, so anything we do has to be at least 30 inches high. he trike is 10 feet long. We have a bed set up picked out. Found a great example of one here on the forum. Suits our needs perfectly with just a bit of tweaking.

This weekend with some help and guidance from a neighbor/friend who has done a conversion, I started on the sidewall insulation. We have it completed by July 5 in order to have the bed done.

I didn't do the insulation in front of the trailer yet because I am working under a timeline to get the sidewalls done, so the fold down bed can be built, plus we are trying to figure out what we want in place of the shevles that are there now. The shelves will have to be removed in order to insulate the front.

We don't have the skills or tools to tackle the windows, so have a local RV place that will do that. We are still trying to figure. ot size and trim. on the inside of te windws.Want to be able to give the RV place a clear idea of what we want before turning thm loose on our CT with a saw. Kind of nervous about that one, but don't know of anyone else around us to do it.

Will keep you posted on our progress. I will post pics once I figure how to do that. I am finding lots of helpand info on this forum.
