I think my double is around 100lbs. I made frame light, but memory foam mattress is heavy.Agfadoc wrote:The bed would be rotated for a side to side in a 7' though and you would have to use twice as much cable to go the same distance, bummer. To raise 4' you have to move 8' of cable in my example.
Maybe use opposing garage door tracks facing outwards with rollers on the outside to keep it positioned and be able to pin at the top with solid base on each side to rest on when you get in at the bottom?... It should work.
I went way overboard with the weight, but 75 lbs for the frame, 50 lbs for the matress plus bedding.. plus buffer? Maybe 150 is more realistic.
Back to the drawing board.

There are garage lifts, there is a capper lift but it's $1100 and only lifts 17.5"

My garage door springs work, yet I always think I'd like something else.
Last night I was bored and looked at some "new" CTC you tubes. Wow. Lots of "experts" without a clue. Yet their subscription are high enough they get paid for the videos views. As there's ads and "buy my shirts, become a patron, help support my build".
I'm sticking to this form!
