So when you leaving for the bike run this month..?[/quote]

I am leaving a week from today. The bike is ready. Just getting all my gear together and packing up pannier bags. Going to be an epic trip. One of many on my bucket list.

sounds like a win win on the AC. I had never thought about what Don said until I watched the video.
I'll be done when I'm finished, if that's not fast enough, take a number.

I like the setup you are going to do. Can't wait to see it. May have to barrow your idea.
Thanks Mark

 on the AC Jasen, I read and re-read a lot of what gets posted on here. Spend more time some days going through posts than working on the Tackle box..
Someone has done it before us on most of this.. They've all helped me get as far as I have..

Well Mark, some things had changed again. For the better I might add. We'll have simple AC that I can live with.
I'll keep posting how it all works out. The concepts not new, seems easier to do for some.. ME !! 8)

How's your fire/hunt trailer coming along? Haven't seen new post for a couple weeks on it..

I do have some up dates to post, but everything is on hold. I found out my sister just pasted away. No work for now, focusing on family matters.
Thanks Mark

These pictures are up over the inside of the back barn doors.. adding a Marine stereo, CD, USB, system, (I had laying around) and made this speaker box for the rear speakers.

169686 169687 169685

The front upper bulkhead area will house the front speakers.. along with cubby holes for what ever fits in there. The wood is repurposed pine planks.. Took some doing getting the two pieces together.. top piece is 5/8" thick and the bottom piece is 3/4", twisted, cracked, and bowed. Amazing what you can do with TB2 and a kreg jig joining wood together.

169688 169689

Holes for speakers and cubby openings cut and routed.. still a lot of sanding to take place.. then have to make the box behind each compartment and speakers.. compartment box will have a back inside to not show the metal taping in the corners..
Polyurethane will coat all raw material.. no stain.. to show off the natural grain of the wood being used..

169690 169691 169692

When it's 98 degrees here, the Conex box shop I use will be 110 - 115 inside it. So, it's been so hot here lately that working process is not as fast as I would like it.. being older and have problems breathing, I work on it as I can and I take my time. I enjoy making what I can out of what I have..

I haven't used a tree trunk yet.. though there is a nice size cedar limb out in the yard the wind brought down, should be well seasoned, been dead for quite some time.. ;)
Stay safe, David

It's looking good, that lumber cleaned up nicely.

Thanks Jasen, was a little worried about the lumber to start with. Then after more work on it, had went to far to turn back and start over..
It'll work great where I'm putting it.. Now to the next part. Figuring out the cubby hole box behind that trim..
If I can dig deeper in my piles of wood. My cabinet stiles, and possibly the cabinet door frames will be made of the same type wood.
With some luck on my side..

The wood work is really outstanding and the stereo is looking great. Makes me want to add some more wood finishes to my trailer. Not sure how you do it in that weather.

Thank you Jeff
The stereo is not a have to have in the CTC, but something had to go in those areas. So why not speakers. Since I have the stereo already.
It let me see what I could do with the wood I have.
I'm no hurry.. this weather we are having is unusual for this time of year here. This is usually end of July and August weather for us.
If a nice breeze, work under a shade tree. Or just take my time, and wait for the evening when it's a tad cooler.
Then work on it some days from 6 pm til 10 pm, cooler part of the day. ;)

You never know when you start with wood like that, might just be wood, maybe a jewel or a piece of firewood, that piece came out nice.

I'm the kind of guy that will waste some perfectly good wood to get the knot or split or some other imperfection in just the right place to be the star attraction.
