While getting ready for another winter season. I cleaned out the wood stove exhaust pipe. About 10 fires from last season. Not much inside.
Just some powder.
I dont get that liquid tar stuff at all.

Had this rope light hanging around and finally found a good home for it.
Just long enough to go around the bed. Turns on when we have shore power.

It's low enough to keep on and still sleep but lights up the floor to see what yur doing at night.
Also in the front there's a bit extra to light up things under the bed storage.

A few little things I fixed while im in the shop.
The roll down shade on the big window I didn't make wide enough.
The morning sun would blind ya on the side's.
So I had another cut 4" wider at Lowe's.
Also mounted the electric plug. Seems a good center area.

While at it. I made some hooks and bungee's to hold the vent insulator up better . This cuts down heat loss alot.

Just waiting for a good snowstorm to go camping.

While at harbor freight I decided to grab a pry bar for the stabilizer jacks.
I've been using a 9" flatblade screwdriver with success but.... was always worried I'd break the handle off.
I needed something 1/2" in diameter and I cut it down to 18" length.
Using a soft disc grinder , I rounded off the square edges and flatbladed the end.



What a huge difference and much more safer. Leveling side to side is much better.
Shoulda done this a long time ago.

Also having the trailer in the shop has made bugging out much faster. With just a little bit of snow outside made moving the trailer by hand a huge task.

Could always use a bit more counter space. So I came up with this, using a fold up table for a toolbox.
Works well.

Made a strap to keep it from swinging during travel and some soft velcro where metal to metal contact is.
Snaps on/off.

I had that other plastic 4" boat port lying around and decided the man door could use it and help the airflow inside.
Ordered a screen for it also. They come in packs of 4 now, same price.


While I was at it, I've been wanting to make some sort of fold up shelf that I could put my camera on for those long timelapse's and keep it out of the weather.



Also did the rear (exhaust port)/ vent for the wood stove. Just had to bend up some diamond plate. It slids in between the heat shield and door.

I like the portal. Great idea to capture the time lapse. I installed one in my rear door last year. The one I have is for a Van, so I had to make some stand off rings to match the thickness. In any case, I like the extra light and view when I am at the desk on the laptop or Radio.

Nice view.
These ports are a great way to get a breeze in from the rear/side when I can't move the trailer.
Today I was supposed to chase the "BigBoy" locomotive but I missed it .
So I decided to get that shower room going for Bonneville.
I survived 3 day's volunteering for a team on the salt. Wished I had a shower.

Having my own industrial sewing machine helps.


Made a bar using coat hanger and 1/2" conduit.


Right now it's clamped under the gutter. Soon snaps will be installed.

Outside view.
There's a bar sewn into the end for weight.
I flipped it for the silver out, a bit cooler.

The bar sewn in was just enough conduit leftover.
Slid one into the other and smashed it a bit to prevent coming apart, duct taped. Nobody gonna see it.

Bungee's help pull it down.
Maybe $20 into it. Already had the tarp.
Harbor freight grommet kit works well.

Today I installed the snaps on the gutter and tarp. Also sewed the upper bar in, so I can roll up the wall and use it as a awning. Plus makes it easier to tear down if the wind kicked up. Last thing ya want is a tarp to go flying across the desert .

While I was in a mood to sew things up. I had this giant garbage tarp. More like netting. I cut it in 2 to have one for an actual garbage tarp and the other to make a great shade with and the wind blows right through. They come in different colors but brown is what I had laying around.
Connected it with HF tarp clamps and ball stretch cords.
I recommend the tarp clamps but not the ball cords. Kinda weak, had to double em up.

The last time out I was able to test the shower room. The room itself was great but the shower needs to be mounted higher. I have the 5gall. Which is alot and hangs low. Might have to set it on the roof, has a long hose.
We could be just fine with the 2gall.

Also tested out the mister. This was awesome on a stale air night.
Since the truck doesn't have AC. I filled it with cold cooler water and used it for the drive home.

Thanks. I've been trying to keep it low budget but off grid friendly.
I was impressed with it on the salt. It stays cooler inside most of the day depending on wind.
Winter is coming, getting exited.
