Since I put in a Murphy bed in a north south direction I want to load my bike backwards too. This should allow me to put the bed down with the bike in the trailer. Since the bike is 425lb wet walking it in backwards is not really doable. So I was thinking about a winch setup. And here is your build!![]()
Can you share more details on the motorcycle mounting and restraints plus details on the winch? I think I have the same HF winch in my garage somewhere. I see the E track for the wheel chock. How is that owing for you? Is the raised E track a toe hazard? Would you use recessed hold downs or L track mounts for the hold downs if you did it again? I saw a guide or something under the front wheel. What is that? Do you have a video of bike loading?
Hi. Yes, the E-Track is for my wheel chock.. so that is easy enough. Aside from that, the winch can be done several ways. I have a temporary mount in front and made a length cable that attaches to the foot pegs and goes around the rear tire. I just hook the winch to that. I use a remote for the winch and just walk the bike in. You could just put a pulley up front and mount the winch in the rear and do the same. Just have to get creative and figure out if you want a permanent winch mount or a temporary one. I don't use it much, but if I did, I probably would have mounted it on the rear side corner in the trailer and used some pulleys on Etract attachements to route the cable as needed. There are many ways you can do it.. I am doing this with an KTM-690R Enduro type bike and just walk it up the ramp with the winch. Not sure I could do that with a big heavy cruiser. My KTM-450EXC is relatively light and I just push it up backwards without the winch.
Copy of details:
The screw mounts are flush with the floor. I moved it back as far as needed for the last etrac slot in case I ever want to pull in the Victory Kingpin. Being back so far, the entry carpet covers over the mounts so this mod is essentially transparent. I think this will be a huge improvement for me.

Mount holes are flush with the floor.
