Is it a good idea to renforce trailer pull tongue beams?

Only if you're going to massively overload the trailer with tongue weight.

Having learned the hard way over 30 years, my motto when it comes to vehicle modifications:

Why?
1. Creates surprise problems.
2. Costs to modify it and costs even more to fix the eventual modification damage.
3. Down time.
