16X8 with a three foot Vee too. 2300 lb empty weight, so I have some headroom on the 5000 towing limit of my truck.

Cool. Sounds like all aluminum. Worthington? Aluma?

No, steel frame Cargo Craft, and I am sleepy so I mixed up the numbers. It is 2700 empty with 2300 before I hit the tow limit. Its gross is 7000, which I will stay way under

Come on Ed, what progress have you guys made before it turned cold?

I've got some new cabinets coming for mine.

Looks like I'll start my build after the first of the year.

Well Curtis.... the chocks came in...

Image

And we took a short shakedown trip to the Grasslands in it, using a futon until we build a folding bunk.

Image

The plates for the removable chocks worked out great. They are recessed into the flooring, so once you pop the chock out they are basically flush. Toss a rug down and you would never know they were there.

I am getting insulation for the ceiling today. That will be the last addition before we use it for two weeks in the desert. By using it as we build it we are seeing what works for us before everything is bolted down. I am seriously looking at using the guts of that futon and building a steel frame to make it into a bunk/couch that folds flat against the wall for traveling. Sketched out a design last night for that.

Ceiling insulation is done. Now a small electric space heater can keep the inside more than 20 degrees warmer than the outside temperature. Six degrees was the best the same heater did with the bare roof.

We are loaded for the first big trip, two weeks in the desert.

Image

Probably have way too much stuff this trip. I am looking forward to building stuff in so there will be less loading before a journey.

Of course our bikes are going... That is the point of this particular trailer for us. :)
