Did some work to the cargo camper....pics!!

Converting Cargo Trailers into TTTs

Postby Goodwood » Sun Aug 07, 2011 9:46 pm

The bathroom. I got one of those 5 gal toilets, will probably use a luggable loo for day trip emergencys.

I wanted an easy way to make a wall, so I used a 36" bifold door and 28" 6 panel door for the bathroom walls.

The bifold door mounts off the front, I made one 18" panel fixed and the other 18" panel hinge so it acts as the door to enter the bathroom. The 28" 6 panel comes off the side of the trailer, I had extra paneling, so I used it to make it look the same.

The mattresses also act as the couch. Need to find a better fitting sheet, was a temporary fix.

I also installed stabilizer jacks on the rear today, no pics.
I have some e track to install, just fine tuning the location.
I'm looking for an inverter, no rush. Still contemplating the tongue box. A portable grill, again, no rush. We have a portable shower, thinking of a privacy room between truck and trailer

We have used the trailer a bunch for regular trailer stuff with the bikes and quads, this Friday we take of first camping trip in it. Its an easy one, Fort Wilderness!!......

Thanks for all the ideas!!!!!!

for now...

the end.....

During the build my wife commented on how bright the overhead lights were if you were laying down in the bed.....so, i added some rope light, AKA...mood lighting

Added an outdoor shower. Saw this idea somewhere, pretty cool! Used the fender as a shelf keep the soap and shampoo within reach. Some PVC, shower curtains and a couple of floor flanges mounted in an existing hole used to attach the alum siding...

Not a great pic, but you get the idea...

I'm planning on finding something for nighttime lighting when my better half is asleep and I'm still up having fun. The overheads are really bright!

Did you mount the rope lighting semi-permanent? I ask because we use that stuff outside all the time, and they just stop working in sections eventually. That would be my only concern with that lighting. Nice idea though.

Really liking the bed... still deciding on how I want to mount mine, yours gives me something else to think about

The rope lighting gives an almost perfect light at night. When the kids are drowsy, everyone winding down from a fun, tiring day the light is just enough. Even better, it is extremely easy to install.

At Home Depot they carry a clear u channel designed to mount rope lighting. The channel is 6 feet long and has a self adhesive back the entire length. Really makes a professional job and only costs about $3 a piece. I did put a small screw on the ends and the middle just for the moving and vibrations of the trailer.

If a section of rope lighting burns out or goes bad, just pull it from the channel, takes just a minute.

I have only seen this channel at Home Depot, not Lowes, not sure its thats nationwide, just FYI.

I went around this by installing some of those 110 LED night light receptacles that I found at Lowe's. They are touch dim-able which is really cool. when turned up to full brightness they are plenty.. muted all the way down they are cool as well. Just added a couple more receptacles to make up for the three I lost due to the lights. I like them a lot.
