any advice on the subject? inverter size choice>?

I am ready for a 12 volt inverter and wonder which size to buy?
I was thinking of buying a 3000 watt?
I just want one so that I don;t have to run my generator if I want to run my microwave for a few minutes or maybe the hot water heater for a few minutes, maybe the tv or fan nothing long term.
I was thinking of buying a couple golf cart batteries also.

I would not run a microwave or a hotwater heater on a inverter. I think for a microwave you need a true sine wave inverter. Which cost big bucks for one that size. The hotwater heater probably doesn't matter but it will also pull a TON of juice. Tv or fan would be ok for short use. I have just a small inverter I keep in the trailer for small things like my laptop charger. If I need to run the microwave or ac I just fire up the generator.
