Not sure I understand why they would be needed on a CT conversion, if I understand their function correctly?

Are you talking about the wheels on the bottom rear of the frame to keep it from dragging? My trailer is 26' long and never had a problem. But I have straight axles. If your trailer drags add a set. If not don't worry with it. They would be very easy to add to any trailer..

Yes,those are the wheels! We have decided on a 20 footer and I wasn't sure if the greater length would cause more problems.I wasn't sure if it was bogey or boogey wheels but I do see them on some trailers.Thank you,will do as an aftermarket if we ever have a problem.

On my 26 footer if entering a steep drive be it gas stations or restaurants it would drag unless I entered at an angle.
the trailer had metal skids to protect the bottom

Wait now, Pete said his trailer "had" metal skids, does that mean it does not have them anymore...

We had skids on the back of our 1979 27 foot Holiday Rambler class -C motor home. There was a bad set of RR tracks right here in town that he would sometimes scrape while going over, it was tough to do the angle thing right in a traffic lane. I never felt the need for them anywhere else.

I've known people who needed them just to back into their own driveway, never while out on the road. Go-figure.

Don't they bend the frame? I know I've read a thread or two about how they'll void the warranty on certain big RVs.

I would think that if you drug the rear of the frame hard enough to bend the frame that it would probably bend with or with out the wheels.

I did a quick search and they're called skid wheels. Looks like there's varying onions on them; some people think they're great, others think they bend the frame. YMMV.
