skin's aluma toy hauler

Postby skin » Sun Mar 25, 2012 7:05 am

Been waiting collecting parts, and dreaming up ideas of what I want for my trailer. Now its time to start getting things together. This week I will try to get the fantastic fan in and then I have to camp up north and do some work. The next week I will be putting windows in. I made my own power converter for ac to dc as I have power most places I go.[i[album][/album]mg][/img]

I finally got some work done on my trailer! Added a fan up in the roof. Caulked the roof, added a power strip under cabinet, and did some wiring. I took my trailer in to a dealer to have them install the windows and they finally got the windows after a month of waiting. They were the wrong windows. I got fed up and picked it up. So now I am in search of windows to do it myself.

I made the power supply for the dc to run off of 120vac. I will be adding a battery and charger soon. It all takes time with the kids and all. First atv trip is just 3 weeks away. Still need to add a counter up front also.

Good Start, do you drive the crane?

I don't drive the crane, I am an electrician at p&h mining. They make mining shovels and blast hole drills. I was able to get the fan framed in. It turned out ok but I am not a carpenter. I prefer metal fab any day. Thinking of polyurethane for the bottom ply wood. I think I need some tunes in it also.

My wife, daughter, and niece got side swiped yesterday and rolled 1 1/2 times landing on the roof. Everyone is ok. My wife asked my daughter at the hospital if she would snuggle when they got home. Daughter(3) say '' no I go home and work on trailer with daddy'' what a trooper!

It's been a rough week after the wifes accident but I did manage to make some progress poly on the walls and the start of a counter in the front.

Made a step for the kid to get in easy. Still not done with the counter. More progress after work today. we are leaving friday for an atv/camping trip. I can not wait to get out of dodge! I also purchased an easy up 12x14, disc-O-bed bunk cots, and a portapottie for the girls.

'Sorry to hear of your wife's accident, but glad to hear all are OK.

I don't know why they can't make a requirement to make vehicle
roofs strong enough to withstand rollovers with the roof not crushing
down. We pay enough for them now-a-days they should at least do that
much for the driving public and it can't be that costly - cheap if it saves
a life.

Just curious, how long are each side of the interior walls in the front "V" and what
are the interior width and length of the trailer cargo body?

Happy outfitting.

Cheers,
Norm/mezmo

This is a 7x18 trailer with 42'' v. Those walls I think were 52''. I did get the counter done for the most part. I still have to get a radio put in and some 12 volt outlets put in and some minor wiring before we go camping this weekend. What a mess of tools I had to clean up!
