CT Screen Door

Has anyone built or purchased a screen door for your rig? I'm I plan on one for the 32" side door
and maybe for the rear barn door opening.

I built this one much better quality than store bought for a fraction of the cost and best thing you can build it any size and repair it yourself been up for about 5 years now

Bandit, great job on that screen door! Can you post a few more pictures of different sides? We might try the screen-curtain concept this first summer but will probably want something sturdier in the future. With something like this you could even add a metal grate or something on the lower half for pups (and kids).

I don't have anymore pics and this door is on my uncles house but this door is all but joints put together with pocket holes and screws then on back staple screen and cover staples with latice strip you can even put screen door knob and latch on this one is made from 5/4 treated deck boards ripped down if u need more info more than happy to help

Usually if someone has kids or animals I will put hardware cloth(rabbit wire over screen to keep it from getting kicked out or torn up

That looks very nice. How do you incorporate it with the door? I.E. does it open with the door or does it swing in. I don't want to open
two doors to get out. The trailer manufacturer wants $275 to add a screen door. I'm thinking the door jab would need to be wider?

I will be using a Magic Mesh screen. Cheap and easy, but won't do much to keep the critters inside...

You can also purchase retractable screens that have a top and bottom track that might work. Using one on the deck slider...

Thanks yes you have to open it it's a screen door do a home hung on hindges but you could put a piece of channel at bottom of door for something like this to set in and then add a couple of clips at top and sides to hold it on but also allows for removel

I built one from a window screen kit from Lowes. Its lightweight, easy to mount with simple hinges, and has lasted 4+ years with only a couple of "uh oh" moments where I had to bend it back in shape a little. It secures with magnetic strips taped on the opening and top of the frame/door way. I wouldn't call it sturdy, but as long as nobody runs into it or hangs on it, its good to go. Opens and closes with minimal effort. Definitely keeps all the bugs out.

For the rear barn door screen, I purchased a frameless hanging screen and secure it all around with velcro, but have found I seldom use it. Don't even remember using it at all last season.
