Something is strange about this picture. What is a camper doing on a sidewalk type area and why is the crane in the background?

The faithful gather for a ceremony honoring Lemanja, Goddess of the Sea, as part of traditional New Year's celebrations on the sands of Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro on Dec. 28.

The crane put it there. It's "modern art." 8)

The crane is facing the wrong direction... you can see the grease traces on the lower boom (cables run on the top).
Just an observation. ;)

Have no idea if the crane is involved or not but it actually is modern art, an installation by Michael Elmgreen & Ingar Dragset called "Short Cut". Love the title.

OK, I'll bite. It's in Marfa TX. Artist is Richard Phillips. So did I get it? Did I? Huh?

Wow! You did! Thanks.

It was just a random picture I found looking for trailers. I had no idea that it was a commercial and not just "modern art." Here's the story I found using the info you provided:

http://www.texasmonthly.com/story/so-it-art-talking-playboy-marfa-artist-richard-phillips

I should have right clicked it and gone to the original article that it was part of.
