The '59 Caddy taillights magically also fit Chevy Impalas and BelAirs of the era, so people either stole them off of Caddies or ordered them from the Cadillac dealerships to put on their Chevies.

I see a common focal "point" here: Image I'm not sure where the design impetus really was heading from the early 50's-early 60's, but I think the Dagmars of the 50's were being transformed into a more PG space-age motif. Thus this:

became this:

But, sadly, my first cars were 56 Chevies, and I suffered from Dagmar envy:

as the '56(s) were underdeveloped. However, I soon discovered the real thing, so I was able to deal with it.

working on it,

Oy vey  ...yes, the design motif of some cars in the late 1950s was inspired by Hugh Hefner's publication and buxom Hollywood actresses, specifically Jayne Mansfield, who also owned a '59 Cadillac.

British actress Diana Dors' '59 Caddy.

Does anybody know what the "200" stands for?
