Do you have a link to where you got your new fans they look cool....sorrt bad pun I like the idea of a hinged pannel you could then use it for shade underneath or as window coverings

Here is link to the under floor fan :fan: link I hope it works

I also just ordered the Magnum inverter AA1512AE & the fancy remote , this should be more then enough to operate my a/c
it is also a 70 amp battery charger & will pass shore power through the system

Im still deciding on more solar panels - using panels for shade is a good idea..... :lightbulb: :lightbulb: :designing:
I would need to double up 2 or 3 panels to fold out   and give a good amount of shade......
I could become tooooo famous if a had 6 panels used as a crank out awning , they would be 10 ft x 11 ft & 1440 watts of solar

thanks for the tip .....if only I was an engineer & good with hinges - then I would try it , BUT I like the idea

glad you like the idea I think after all that you have achieved that figuring out a little hinge would be easy for you....So will this trailer when finished if ever...be used a a permanent home just wondering what your going to do with it when finished

Why did you get a modified sine wave inverter with charger vs just getting a true sine wave stand alone inverter? Just wondering cause you could have gotten a 2000 watt true sine wave one for about half the cost.

I must have missed that link ?
Every 2000 watt true sine wave inverter I looked at was $1800 and had a weight of 50 lbs...

I had no idea there is something as pure sine wave 2,000 watts for $450

I have no idea why this stupid thing turns everything 90 deg sideways ?? :x :x
pss't don't tell its a little crocket  I'll make it bigger latter with new grinding wheel.
On the front one can see the new 2" x 8" vent, as more water is being used
the harder the air actually blows from the vent, its more like a blower,
the air from the heater is not very hot
I will still install a water tight diamond cover over the exterior vent
to make it blend in a little better. Then when parked the little flap can be lifted up.

After some more testing I was able to mix the water to a lower temperature
so the low flow I would guess at around 1/2 GPM does work on this unit.
If the power is turned off, it starts at 104 deg

Well again if you want a inverter with built in battery charger it might be different. Those are used in motor homes most of the time with onboard gens. If you just wanted a inverter you could have got something like this.. http://www.boatersworld.com/product/MP80807905.htm 2000 watt true sine wave invert.. They also sell a remote control panel for it for around 30 bucks I think.. I have the 600 watt version in my trailer with the remote panel.. I have it wired into one of my circuits with a automatic transfer switch.. Also made by the same company.. That way if the inverter is on and you plug the trailer in or fire up the generator it will automatically switch over the the shore power and won't back feed. lol I want to say for my inverter, remote panel and transfer switch I paid like 280... Course my inverter is only 600 watt with 1200 watt surge.. The 1000 watt has a 2000 watt surge. I kind of wish I would have spend the extra hundred and got the 1000 watt version. Just so I could run the microwave..

BTW My trailer already has a converter with a 3 stage battery charger so thats why I didn't need the inverter/charger combo.. But really once I added my solar I pulled the fuse on the charger to the battery. The only charger I've used to charge the batteries is the one for the solar.. It has kept up easily.

You made a good call with the inverter/charger. You have a *very* good inverter with the Magnum, even if its a MSW type. I'll likely replace my PD battery charger with something similar when it fails. Most of the big RVers use a big MSW inverter along and a small PSW type. MSW is fine for most big loads, its only sensitive electronics that balk at a MSW. I would get a small (~300W) inverter for electronics (DVD Player, TV, cell phone charger, etc.). It will run much more efficiently if its loaded close to its nameplate rating. You don't want to run a 2000 watt inverter with only a 100 watts or so on it - it wastes battery power. Morningstar makes a really nice 300w PSW inverter that's very efficient (but its not cheap).

Guess it depends on what you need your inverter for. My only reel need for one was to run my TV, bluray, chargers for the camera, phones, small coffee maker, ect. Pretty much everything that needs a true sine wave.. If I wanted to run the microwave it also seems they need a True sine wave inverter. As do refrigerators. Honestly I'm not sure why most people would need a large modified wave inverter since it seems like most things need a tsw inverter. Well inless your trying to run a single high wattage item that you know is ok on a modified wave inverter..

People run MSW with those loads all the time. The fridge motor runs hotter and the microwave has reduced power output on MSW but they do run (assuming you get an inverter with the appropriate sized inrush capability).

Hey 8ball

Now I know what you mean with those inverters..... NO THANKS !!!
I got something like that and its loud as hell...the fan run on high all the time......drives me nuts.....
I would have to mount the thing under the trailer so I could hear my TV
A really good engineer told me my a/c compressor will run on MSW ....no problem

Bruce Said: Morningstar makes a really nice 300w PSW inverter that's very efficient (but its not cheap).

I also have the Morning star 300 and is SILENT ...just the way I like it

it was only $225 ...I thought pretty cheap :D :D

I made a quick rain vent cover , so the rain cant get into the blower ....
The more water I use , the faster the blower blows out the hot air....
when its cold out....it really looks cool

:goodmorning: :goodmorning: :goodmorning:

Anybody have some other ideas ?
I need to mount the inverter somewhere ...NO room inside cabinets.... :-(( so here is my best idea :poop: ...to keep wiring runs short as possible
Feel free to comment if something better comes to mind ?

Damn sideways photos are a curse :hammerhead:
I turned the pictures on my computer & that finally worked

Here is the 6" x 12" inverter on a scrap diamond plate to get the idea across
A friend said to paint the inverter Gold to match the wall paper ? :picklejuice:

Before you get to far have you tested your AC on that inverter? There are several threads floating around here on it.. Some things will work on MS inverter some things won't.. One guy just tested 3 differen't Window ACs with one MS inverter. Some worked better then others. I know you said you didn't care if the AC didn't last long. But you probably dont' want it louder then normal or using more power then its suppose to. If I remember right you only have one battery onboard? If so I would not run it very long at all for the test.

Hi 8ball

If you have the link for the guy who tested his ac on MS inverter that would be great ...........
Good idea to do a little test.... I always assume expensive stuff will work...EXCEPT for the LG

My batteries are 400 amp hours L16 - so should be good for 2-3 hours run time @ 515 watts for the small ac
I may stay with the smaller ac ...vs the larger one at 650 or 800 watts....
The under floor 14" - 2000 CFM sucking only 50 watts at 120 volts works better then expected so far

OH .... I found the link with a search.......
Not sure I would compare a Harbor Freight CHINA SPECIAL :frightened: :frightened: to the USA Made - MM1512AE
but time will tell ?

True that guy with the harbor freight one is probably apples and oranges. But the idea of a test run is still good. I also think him trying different ACs was a good idea since some devices seem to work better on MS inverters then others.. I use to have 600 gallons worth of saltwater reef and used a diy UPS to run my pumps during power outages.. I had some pumps that would run fine on MS inverter and some that would get hot and rattle. I know water pumps are not the same thing as an AC.. But I mean they have an electric fan motor as well as a compressor.. so I'm guessing they could have the same issue. Same thing happens with flat screens.. So will work some wont..

Hey 8ball

I got ahold of a real solar and dc expert today while at the Marine store ........
So it should be rock and roll .... No problem at all

Will know more tomorrow when I hook the sucker up

Stay tuned !! Can't wait already :D :D :D
