. Turned on AC and it fails to keep temps low. The compressor shuts off at 84-85 and doesn't come back on until 89-90. Gets to 84-85 shuts off. Fan stays on. I've unplugged and reset still operates this way. It's 93 + outside, so not much relief.
So I guess I'll have to rethink using a window type AC and cutting "stud".
After searching I've found this to be the issue most complained about. I also found a "hack" add a fan blowing back at unit. I tried this and my temps dropped into the upper 70's with compressor staying on. The tech page for LG suggest slow fan speed so I've changed that now. I will recheck in an hour or so.
Sorry to hear you didn't get the help. I've been there before when I needed two sets of hands.
I didn't read back on the thread... but is your LG AC a portable with one hose? On my last build, I started with one of those and even modified it to be a two hose unit. I was never really satisfied with it. Given the design and they way they exhaust, they seem to always pull a certain amount of air in from the outside and on a hot day, it just can't keep up unless you just get a huge one... at which point, you may as well get a ceiling mount given the power they draw.
In my current build, I have a 6,000 BTU window unit in a 7*18 with 2'ft Vnose and it cools in full sun in hot Florida. I was working inside it yesterday and it was nice. If your trailer is well insulated , a 5,000 BTU will do the job. There are many creative ways to mount them either permanently or slide in. I have done it both ways now with the latest being built into a cabinet at the ceiling. There are many good ideas on this forum as you well know. You'll be able to find something that will work for you. Best of luck!
