While not a full time rig, thought I would share a previous camping rig I built.
Until I was 52, I competed in off road motorcycle endurance events around the nation, which often required travel to/from race locations many of which involved a 2000+ mile round trip. Events included 24 hour races, multi-day long distance endurance events and others. Since these events were in remote locations, I needed a camping rig that allowed me to drive until I was just too tired to continue, and then craw in the back for a nap, all while keeping my race bike safe and secure inside the van. Here are a few pictures I snapped on a trip to an ISDE qualifier event.

Pits support was provided by a sponsor once I arrived, but the van was still my home for the entire trip. It was insulated, carpeted and included a 1500 watt inverter to run the microwave, TV and other assorted electronics. Didn't have a bathroom because of the room required for my bike and the trade off for racing essentials like extra wheels/tires, nitrogen tank, etc, but I managed. A trailer was out because of the lower speed limit required while towing ANY trailer in certain parts of the country, as there was a big difference between 70 mph and 55 mph on a 2000 mile trip.
