You are right a bear can make a huge mess. I will also tell you if a bear wants in a hard side trailer, He will get in that hard side trailer. I have delt with bear for alot of years and they are very strong in strength and mind. I do fill much safer in my hard side camp trailer to tell you the truth.

so It would have to be some kind of HARD sided trailer. ha ha
I too like the cargo trailer over my now for sale tent trailer. It is also part of the reason I have an exit window opposite my door.

We had a bear come and break into our chicken coop 2x. This picture is from the first time. He killed 18 chickens the first time. The second time he killed 7. I have pictures from the inside but they are to gruesome to post I think. :cry:

After the first time I put up pressure treated 2x4's across the window horizontally to keep him out. When he came back (2yrs later) he pulled the 2x4's out and broke through the window again. This time I lagged the 2x4's fast vertically (harder to get a grip on) with 12" lag bolts and on the inside I installed welded fence panels. I hope this works. :thinking:
