Converting Cargo Trailers into TTTs

I love the toppolla they put on the saab in europe, im thinking i might do somting like that on my geo tracker. I found a pic of a suzuki samari with a camper on the back... kinda like the landcruiser campers in austrailia... I think the U.S. really needs to start importing the small diesels... The hybrids and elecs. are great but you cant pull or off road with um... plus theres no development needed for what already exists in other countries. In fact make the micro truck legal here for highway use(people are importing them all over here in Texas for ranch or hunting vehicles)... so what it only goes 55, it gets 40 mpg and is 4x4 and can haul a pallet of tile.

The EPA Czars are the reason for the lack of import diesels and wimpy gas engines. :x Chrysler used the Mercedes diesel in a jeep product for a while and the VW has a diesel. Both are excellent engines. Both are out of the average joe's price range. Cheaper to buy the V8 and get less fuel mileage or find a good used diesel pickup. My Cummins can pull almost anything I can hook up to. Get 24 empty and 20 pulling a CT or 12 pulling a large stock trailer loaded with cattle. Different strokes. Run what you can afford and serves your purpose best.
Dadgum it! I cut that board 5 times and it's still too short!

When I was a kid, the diesel where stinky and sluggish.
Nowadays Diesel in Europe are great, whish we could get them here.

Any TDI engine (Turbo Direct Injected at very high pressure) or HDI(common rail, very high pressure injection) are excellent (any brand) ... those are pretty small often 1.2 to 2 Liters but with the turbo and injection they got some nice kick and being diesel decent torque too... very much feels like a gas engine.

Most of those get 50 mpg or better and the ride very smooth, on top of that diesel engines almost always outlast gas engine big time.

I don't think they even cause more pollution, because standard in Europe are way stricter, i think the diesel 'ban' in the US is some political stuff of some kind.

Not saying they are necessarily "better", just wish they where an option here.

It isn't about what you pull it with, but HOW you pull it. We use a CRD to pull ours around. 161 hp @ 300 lb/ft. In low range it doubles the torque to 600.

(Jeep Turbo Diesel) That would be the Chrysler/Mercedes that roadinspector referred to.

I use to tow my 6x10 with a four cyl, Chevy S10 but now I went up one to a five Colorado. When I finish up the payments on this I will be getting a six. Pulls fine. But I watch what I have in it. Just bought a new taller fridge but it weights just as much as the cub fridge so I am set. Had to re adjust where thing went but everything fits and actually found more room. I don't get it. Really though I use the same amount of fuel with or without the trailer.
