What part of Texas are you in?
As for you flooring you may want to change it out later to something else. I have some of that stuff and after a while it tends to tear up after use.
The legs from the massage table will tend to punch holes in it as well.
I am a LMT as well. Have used my trailer for different events to do massages. Not the best place but I have also been in a lot worse places to do massages.
As with any of the events people coming and going from in your trailer keep as much of your stuff locked up. I caught someone going through my stuff one time.
Also what event are you going to be at on the 25th, since that was your deadline?

Thanks for the info cam_tx, we live just south of San Antonio. One of the ladys at the that cuts hair at the salon my wife goes to goes to a campground south of us where the oil field workers are staying to give hair cuts. She told my wife they were asking her if she new someone who did massages. So my wife told her she was interested and she booked 4 massages for the 25th. We are hoping this turns into a regular thing so we can pay for all the stuff we just bought for the trailer :) Do you have any pictures of your massage trailer?

No picture of when it was just a massage trailer. I am in the middle of doing a rework on it. Turning it into my toy hauler/camper. Will still be open enough for doing massages but I really prefer doing the massage in my dedicated room. I rarely do outcalls now. Just no time with my regular job and the 101 home chores that always pops up.

FAIL

Postby Smiddyt » Tue Jun 26, 2012 6:08 am

Well we were warned.....We were in a hurry to get this done so went with the cheapest, easiest to install mobile AC. It worked fine in the driveway at 99 degrees outside, the inside got down to 84. But when we pulled it the hour down to the campground where my wife had her massages scheduled it just could not cool down. Of course it was 104 outside but the inside only got down to 99. We were in full sun in the black trailer so that contributed to the heat but the portable AC just could not handle it. I have decided I am going to put a roof top AC on and will look through the post to see how to wire it in.

Just curious, what a/c unit did you attempt to use? If it was a portable was it a single tube or dual tube? There is a long thread regarding the different types of a/c units being used for trailers and although there are a variety of opinions I think there is agreement on the single tube units not being very efficient. With the Texas heat and your black trailer you will probably have to use a larger than usual size a/c unit no matter what type you choose.

I can relate to the heat, I was beginning to work on my trailer yesterday in the garage and I had to stop in the afternoon. :sweaty: It was 104 in DFW as well.

Did you insulate the walls of your trailer saw where the cealing was insulated but did not see the walls trust me it will help if you do them. Also paint the roof of the trailer with a white coating rubber roof seal helps reflex sun and seals leaks and try painting the sides white or light color.

We bought our portable at lowes and they only had a single hose system. Yes I insulated the walls and ceiling and the roof is painted white. I want to get the trailer painted white but I think I am just going to put a roof top AC on. I found a post about it, just need to find it again. :(

If you're talking about this one:

I never found cheaper prices. If you call them, you don't have to wind through the website, which isn't the best. I needed phone help because I couldn't figure it out. They had my parts shipped that day!

I also found out the hard way that the portable AC don't work, but I thought a 13000 btu in a 7x16 would be more than enough but I had the same results as you found out.
I am very happy with the way I have my trailer now with the 8000btu window AC = in 30 minutes to a hour it's almost cold inside, which is great if you don't want to run the AC all day like off a generator but as soon as you need the AC it's not long before it's comfortable to be inside.
I built mine on a false wall that has wheels on it so I can open it to get my golf cart inside and then close it to run the AC,also I was able to screen in the wall and put in a wood screen door which was alot better than flimsy hanging screen I had before and was never happy with.
I made a couple of plugs with foam insulation that go in the rear wall and went to walmart and bought some curtains to cover them on the inside and it works great.
In the fall I leave the foam plugs at home.
The wall was easy to build but you do loose about a foot on the inside but well worth it.
I have photos in my album.

Because it is going to be used for massage my wife does not want any windows. I ordered the rooftop AC and ceiling mount and hopefully it will be here by Friday when I start my 3 day weekend. Now I just got to put in the 30 amp breaker box and 2 breaker box.

If you don't want side windows you can install side vents. Like the ones on this web pg. http://kmtparts.com/trailer-body-compon ... vents.html
There are several different styles but the third one down seems to be the favorite of several folks on this forum. Or one simular to it. They will make a difference for you.

poteet huh, i live in helotes and have been using my trailer for a couple of months. i installed a roof mount polar mach from coleman,( low profile) my wife complains about it being to cold. at canyon lake 2 weeks ago it got to 54 degrees inside. 13.5 rated ac with 1 inch insulation in the walls and roof. plywood floor with indoor outdoor carpet. the trailer is 8x14 inside so plenty of room inside for motorcycles, dune buggy or sailboat and canoe. a local cabinet shop installed a counter across the front and i built an overhead cabinet. the only thing i really should have done is install a couple of windows. there is only one on the side door. well good luck on your build maybe i will meet you at a bike rally??

bug n bike do you have any pictures of your trailer? Did you install e tracks for a bed when you arent hauling stuff?

The AC is supposed to arrive today and I am off tomorrow. We bought some LED rope lights, 4 breaker box, plugs and wiring to wire in the 110. I know 4 breakers is overkill but that is all the lowes we went to had in stock. My bigest concern is the connection from the breaker box to the outside. I need to find a 30 amp power inlet but the RV parts place I went to did not have any in stock. I will go check after work today to see if they got in some more.
