I made the same mistake, a 66 cell high voltage 185W panel had to get a Morningstar SunSaver MPPT controller which would handle the better than 70 open circuit volts. It, in full shade puts out 35V.
Unless you have more than 800W coming out of your panels there is no point in going with 24V, some one will correct me if I am wrong.
You might also want to consider 2 6V in series like www.rollsbattery.com up to 1300AH and bullet proof.
