Very nice job! I love how you tore the Jayco down to its wimpy lightweight frame. Is it even worth making into a flatbed trailer? Did you save the RVIA sticker?

Mark519,
No unfortunately I've made a few bonehead mistakes on the way and that was one of them. I had thought I saved the RVIA and L&I stamps, but I think they made their way to the dump. I was able to sell the frame to a chicken farmer who wanted it for moving chickens on his farm (mobile coup).

Got the drop down dinette table done today, which was the last thing that needed built, now to finish the rest before labor day weekend!

I saw it on a 4x4 forum and I linked to it on another. It raises the bar for sure.

Do you have any more pictures of the reinforcement for the slide out and the slide out in general?

On the slide out I added reinforcement studs and a 1x3 steel frame. In the Jayco the legs of the slide out were anchored to the frame. In my case, my frame was wider than the legs, so I added a steel 2x4x8' across the trailer and anchored it to the steel I-beam frame of the car hauler. Once I installed the slide out, I anchored the legs into the 2x4 with grade 8 bolts and backed it underneath with angle iron. The slide out itself screws into the back wall into the steel 1x3 frame. The Jayco was all thin aluminum, so I should be a bit more stout than the stock version. Sorry I don't have many pictures of the step by step process.

So if you were in need of a toy hauler you could have flipped the floor plan end to end and had a ramp on the back and slide on the front? I guess it would depend on the toys you wanted to haul but one for sure and possibly two touring bikes... something to ponder.

FWIW, I believe you underestimate the cold weather worthiness of your build. The problem may be it's just too cold outside to get out and enjoy yourself but I'll bet you would be snug and warm well into the winter months even with your windows and foam core door and slide out. I suppose come winter you can test that in your driveway, I hope you'll post an update.
