How long does it take for the paint fumes to go away?

I am going to paint my plywood walls when I get my trailer. I was planning on two coats of primer, followed by two coats of paint. I will be using my spray gun.

What type of finish do you think would be best for the paint? Flat, satin, or gloss? Something else?

I really don't know on the paint fume question. That will depend on what type of paint you use and the temperature it cures at. I can't use anything that off gasses much in my build. So I was careful about choosing acrylic paints and water cleanup finishes. Once it dried and aired for a day or two any smell was gone. Oil based stuff may take a week or a lot longer depending on how sensitive your nose/lungs are.

On the finish question...that is mostly a personal preference. Flat hides more surface imperfections and gloss really shows them. Traditionally gloss and semigloss finishes handle scrubbing and cleaning better, but anymore flat does pretty good with being scrubbed too. Most of the time I personally like a satin finish. Really it is up to you.
