Prem, Howdy;

Took a bit but this is the vest/backpack got it 'lightly' used from evil-bay
a few years ago so had to find the proper years model;

Hank,

:thumbsup: That is a really good one!

Now I want to see what Jim has/uses for fishing.

Not for the same purpose, but here's what I've got it reduced down to for hiking across northern Spain for a month. I laced bungie cord thru the loops:

Prem, Howdy;

Nice. With UL gear you can get further with less hassles and feel a lot better when you
finish your days journey. The pack of mine works out to about 22 Liters, about the same as yours.

Hank,

In my 30s I used a folding Z-Rest to sleep on. That also functioned as the frame of my ultralight pack. (I had removed the pack's factory aluminum stays and plastic sheet insert for weight reduction.) In my 40s I used a thin Thermarest AND the Z-Rest. Now I just use this:

But in my trailer I've got a spring futon with memory foam on top. Very good combo. :lol:

Bob,

I know some camping places where the dirt and the hills are that exact color. :twisted: That trailer would be pure stealth were it not for the chrome/aluminum.

Mossy Oak camo would make you stick out like a sore thumb!

Less is more, for sure. I usually only need a couple/three fly boxes, spools of tippet, clippers, forceps, and floatant. Often a camera in my shirt pocket.

When I might need such extraneous items like a bottle of water, snack, or just a little more stuff, I'll use a over-the-shoulder sling pack.

On an all day excursion on foot, I sometimes wear a traditional vest with lots of room and too many pockets for things like rain gear, lunch, more snacks and water, and more fly boxes I won't likely use. But a few of my rivers dictate this.

The beauty of float fishing is that there's room for everything in the boat, and more!

For overnighters, I return to my beloved trailer, where I have all the comforts of home neat and tidy, including heat, memory foam to sleep on, a place to tie more flies I really don't need, the cooler with more snacks, and a solid roof and walls for the incoming thunderstorm. I can always go outside, build a campfire, and pretend I hiked 10 miles in. :lol:

So, every minimalist has some residual neurosis?

:lol:

P.S. I ordered a banjitar. That's proof of mine. :FNP (Must sell one of three guitars now to compensate.)

:frightened: Wood absorbs the condensation that forms on the skin on the inside of a trailer. The fiberglass insulation retains more moisture and the wood rots in such an environment. That musty smell is from the mold that is eating the wood:
