Prem,
Posts like this are why to me why this forum is so good. I have designed an inside 34 x 24 inch shower/potty area in my 6 x 14 ft CT. But then inputs like this come in and cause me to challenge my ideas. I too want simple, but I believe this shower is important to my wife so I may stay with that plan. But nevertheless, I still rethink my ideas and see if they pass the tests to continue with them.

Thanks for posting them.

As a woman, I would feel uncomfortable showering outside, even in a shower tent. Anyway, how about the inside shower pan with a solar shower bag? No tent set-up or plumbing, except for drain.

Indeed! Point well taken.

If you are in N.M. in the fall this is well worth seeing. I'd just bet ol' hankaye has been there.

reba,

Hand gun or large kitchen knife in the outside shower stall with you. Problem solved. WWRRD? (What would Ronda Rousey do?)

McDave,

There are now regional Burning Man gatherings. I saw photos of one in Israel in the Negev Desert taken last month and a list of others. I went once in NV. It was fun but the conditions were the worst I've ever experienced. Never again for me. I'm not into pyro art either. Many others are. Whatever.

I'll take that bet and all your lunch $'s too! Don't care much for the crowded venues.
Herd mentality takes over to quickly and not everyone thinks the same things are "fun".
I can enjoy events like Zozobra, but from a distance of about 300 miles give or take a few...

This is, of course, why women would feel uncomfortable. The male mindset is very hard to understand.

Males don't like to get jumped either, hence weaponry.

We've got smoke so thick in our valley that it's unsafe to go outside and breathe the air. :frightened:

I'm in western Colorado and since yesterday we have had lots of smoke in the air. Today it is bad enough we can't see the hills just outside of town. I was in my garage for a few minutes this evening when the sun was setting and saw this little bit of glow on the wall that was coming across the shop from a west facing window. It is orange-ish or whatever colour that is because of the smoke in the air tinting the sunlight.

It will go on for another month if we don't get a big rain before then:

A necessary evil in the west, and yep, its usually late September when the air clears. Everywhere I'm going now is smoky, even at home where we're a few hundred miles downwind of the infernos. But its been burning for centuries, and will continue to do so. An unfortunate, but necessary part of the whole equation. Its just worse now that we've developed and occupied so much more land than before migration, settlement, and sprawl. I keep the land around my home cut and clean so if (when) the fire comes, it burns around it. I've been evacuated twice in my life, only to come home to see neighbors' houses burned to ash, but luckily mine still standing. We must learn to live with it, and prepare as best as possible.

(And there's your pre-sunrise commentary for today, brought to you by One Mile Visibility, bringing the smell of smoke and burning air passages to your outdoor pleasures across the west.)
