Be that way then . Only in the 40's tonight but had a few in the mid 30's already. Color is finally happening but I do not think it's going to be a good color year .

But it will never happen....I am stuck here bc of age and the friends we have here. Later next week the temps are forecasted to hit the mid 40's. I will anxiously await them. Parts that have held up my cabinet work have arrived. This weekend I hope to make progress.

I forgot it was the weekend! Our forecaster's lie! They will spin the weather so downstate'ers will travel up. So if the temp is anywhere near 40* in the viewing area- most of upper L.P. And most of U.P. The temp/forecast is the best possible for the whole area. So it was about 30* but it's sunny and warming up!

Other years we have had accumulating snow in October. We had 6" one October I remember it because I got pulled over by what I believe was a phony cop. I worked for the county and they checked into it and found no calls into dispatch of a pull over or ID check.

Picked up wo twin six inch memory foam mattresses today from Bed Bath and Beyond. I think I got a good sale price. $199 msrp, sale 139 with 20% discount coupons. I would have preferred latex but the cheapest I could find was $540 for a queen size which I would cut to size. I am going to cut 9" from the side and 3" from the length to make then fit my two platforms.

Will include photos when done.

WARNING GRAPHIC PHOTO Re: BLUE RIDGE Rambler

Postby lrrowe » Wed Oct 21, 2015 7:30 pm

It seems I always find a reason to slow down on my building and reporting.

Major Mistake
But last night was a bummer. I now can join the club with Bob Henry. I got in a hurry and let my table saw get the better of me.
Image
My fault. Lucky I got caught in a back and forth direction and not the crosscut way or I would have chopped off my thumb for sure.
This stops my work for awhile. And this Saturday I am headed over to Cape Hatteras (Cape Point) for a week of driving on the sand and fishing with my wife and friends.
Guess they will have to tie my knots and bait my hook for me. And get my beers while I sit in my chair. Please be careful out there.

This is the rig I quickly threw together for the trip. It is a functional wood model today, to be remade with steel brackets later.

Galley
This is the galley shelving waiting to be stained. The AC pipes are now removed for cold weather camping.

Image

Cabinets
Started to build my "in place" cabinets. This one houses the heater (which works better each time I tweak it.....thermostat has arrived).

Forward Cabinet

And on top of my hand problem yesterday, the 7 month old Whirlpool refrigerator just stopped cooling yesterday. Now I will see about the warranty. I wish I could afford to spend the money on the better 12V refrigs that are referenced in this forum many times. But priorities take control all the time.

Flooring

I am trying to decide whether to put in down soon or wait til hunting season is done.

Bob, slow down, too many things to do! With the pain pills and beer, you should make it. Bringing the trailer?

Yes Bob, I must slow down. My wife tells me that all the time. I am retired she,says....why rush. Guess that is the NY yankee in me, always in a hurry.

No we are staying in a rented house trightmon the Atlantic Beach front his time with another couple for a week. I do not care if I catch fish. Just being at the beach with an "Apple Ugly" and a Coors Light is wonderful. Now,to you who cannot guess what an Apple Ugly is, it is a legend from Buxton, NC which is to die for. A big deep fried apple pastry. Sinfull yes, but also very very good. I never check my blood sugar levels those days.

I do plan on making many runs to Hatteras with the camper. And I will be ready to go off the grid there which I think means staying at the NPS camp site on the beach edge.

And Bob, please check for a PM I sent you over on the TearJerkers forum. It is about the campout at Fort Chiswell next year.
Bob

Sorry for ruining your snack Jerry. I tried to warn you in the title. One of the worse things was the damn drive to the ER. Damn slow senior drivers. I am allowed to say that bc I am a senior. But why did they have to be slow when I have an emergency. And where I live, there are very few passing lanes.

I did get some hell today from my retired resident nurse about getting my dressing dirty when I built the rod/cooler rack assembly. A man has got to do what a man has to do. Know what I mean (Verne)?

Thanks McDave. My nurse is controlling my pain pills and alcohol consumption. But yes, I do like the suggestions. I am thinking about one of those very expensive SawStop table saws. You know, the ones where it shuts right down when it senses skin. The one where there are videos of a hot dog shutting it down. $2500 is cheap when compared to a lost finger.
